Seasonal postion starts May 1 ends Oct 8 POSITION SUMMARY: To effectively administrate front of the house food and beverage departments at Paradise Inn to include dining room, service bar and cafe in the normal conduct of business. Works in an associate capacity with the Paradise Inn Executive Chef.  TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: All food and beverage equipment, computer and Aloha POS. NATURE AND SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Receives working direction from the Paradise Inn General Manager.

Duties:

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Promotes the spirit and intent of Guest Services Hospitality Standards. • Remains aware of safety issues in your unit and environment. • Promote Career Development and Workplace Diversity. • Evaluate and implement employee training to provide consistent, efficient and professional service. • Aid each Department Head in training their staff. • Analyze existing procedures and menus that will improve guest patronage and/or check average in consultation with the General Manager. • Recognize and develop staff for possible promotion. • Participate/direct dinning room, service bar and café monthly inventories.  *Supervise the scheduling, discipline, security and cleanliness of all front of the house food and beverage departments at Paradise Inn. • Ensure that business operating objectives are met: sales, profits, performance. • Maintain labor cost records and constantly press for attaining established goals through direction, action and suggestion. • Work in coordination with the Paradise Inn Executive Chef to develop and manitain food production levels for the Tatoosh Cafe. • Ensure that all areas of responsibility follow all laws, health codes as set forth by Federal and/or State laws or codes (whichever applies). • Be present for all on-sight inspections as required. • Ensure decisions are made that correspond to those of the General Manager and established company policies. • Develop a working relationship within the Units that will attain and maintain a high level of Department Head and employee morale. • Suggest and implement employee motivational or incentive programs as approved by Paradise Inn General Manager. • Provide, advise and counsel all front of the house Paradise Inn Food Departments that will aid them in attaining their department goals. • Performs such other related duties as directed or required.

Qualifications:

PREREQUISITES: • Education;  College degree preferred  PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Five years Food and Beverage Management at major hotel restaurant. PERSONAL QUALITIES AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests, supervisors and employees. Must be able to write legibly as well as read and understand directions and instructions. Appearance must be in compliance with company guidelines.  Must wear company approved slip resistant shoes.  ServSafe and MAST certification preferred. Will be required to perform diverse physical tasks. Must be able to stoop, bend, grasp, kneel, handle, reach and squat. Extensive walking and stair climbing. Good physical energy, stamina, and agility. Must withstand exposure to wet floors. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds periodically. Must be service and safety oriented. Must possess a sense of awareness, timelines, urgency, humor, and common sense. Must be able to adapt to the isolation of park life.
